Forest Retreat Spa Treatment at The Cavern Drakensberg Resort & Spa The Forest Retreat is situated on the edge of The Cavern’s Fern Forest. The individual treatment rooms overlook this beautiful indigenous forest, creating a sense of peace that can’t easily be matched. Enjoy a range of relaxing treatments by qualified body care therapists.
Sunset Horse Ride through Northern Horse Stables the ride leaves two hours before sunset and follows a meandering trail through quiet valleys and restful plains to a beautiful spot in the veld with spectacular views of the Drakensberg’s Amphitheatre. Here, a table has been set up with drinks of your choice and a gourmet snack platter. The peaceful, romantic ambience is enhanced by the beautiful light at this time of day. Guests watch the sun setting over the mountains before wandering back to the stables in the twilight.

Ride the Grotto Trail on your Mountain Bike The Grotto Trail is the highlight of the 150km track that makes up the Drakensberg MTB Trails system. This 25km round route climbs up into the foothills of the little Drakensberg, meandering though Protea trees, over stream ravines before going up and down some breathtaking hills. The views are spectacular, and the riding even more so! Countless bridges make for a flowing trail that you will want to do again and again. As the riding is technical, a good level of fitness and expertise is required.

Hike at Royal Natal The Royal Natal offers a number of scenic trails for the whole family. The Cascades Trail is especially popular among families with young children as the easy gradient and paved pathways make it very achievable.
The Fairy Glen Trail is also a lovely family trail that goes through an indigenous forest beside the stream to a beautiful waterfall.
More adventurous hikers will not want to miss the Gudu Falls and Tugela Gorge Trails – Make a whole day of these hikes with a packed lunch and a swimming costume – the river pools are irresistible (and freezing cold!)

Sentinel Peak/Amphitheatre Hike This is a definite for your bucket list – a climb to the top of the world-famous Tugela Falls. This full day outing to ‘the top of the world’ takes in some of SA’s most scenic trails. Guests drive to the Sentinel Car Park (+-120km from All Out Adventures) before tackling the hike via the contour path and chain ladders.

Bungee Bounce and Kids Zone at All Out Adventures All Out Adventures also offers awesome activities for children. Little children as young as age two can enjoy the Bungee Bounce – a trampoline and harness system where they are attached to bungee ropes and winched up above the trampoline; something like a giant jolly jumper. They can bounce and safely perform back and front flips if they wish.
Wood Fired Pizza at The Tower of Pizza These guys make the best pizzas – freshly made to order in a wood-burning oven using a closely guarded family recipe. They also offer a range of other delicious foods, including pastas, tramezzinis, salads and lamb chops. Their homemade desserts are to die for too!Nachos and beer at Thyme in the Berg offers a varied menu that will cater for the whole family – our personal favorite is their really good nachos. A good accompaniment is to choose from the great selection of ice cold local and imported beers.
